open source then Automation Function now for EE version
Hey, thanks for the feature request!
Totally understand the appeal of having Automation in the community version — it’s one of our most requested capabilities. That said, I want to be upfront: Automation is currently part of our commercial (EE) offering, and we don’t have plans to open-source it at this time.
The reason is pretty straightforward — features like Automation help sustain the project financially, which in turn allows us to keep investing in the open-source core and making it better for everyone. It’s a balancing act, but we believe keeping certain advanced features in the EE edition is what allows us to continue offering a solid, actively maintained community version.
That said, if you’re looking for automation-like workflows with the community version, you could explore integrating with external tools like n8n or Zapier via our API — they can handle a lot of the same use cases.
Appreciate you sharing your thoughts, and we’re always listening to community feedback as we think about our roadmap!
