Luna seems to have disappeared as an option in the last hour? Can you bring it back. Please:)
The lite model has just changed. it swapped out from OpenAI Luna to Deepseek 4.1 without me actually making the change in my automations + routines.
Selected: Luna 0.2× for automations and routines.
- Actually used: Lite Uses DeepSeek V4.1 Flash 0.7× Fastest
That can affect the result in several ways:
-
Different behavior and quality
Models don’t respond the same way. The replacement may interpret instructions differently, write in a different style, miss context, or make more mistakes. -
My automation is no longer predictable
A routine should behave consistently. If the selected model can be swapped without warning, testing the routine with Luna doesn’t tell me how it will behave when it runs later. -
Cost and usage may change
The replacement has a different usage multiplier 0.7× instead of 0.2× so the routine may consume substantially more of my allowance or credits. -
The model name is now a little unclear
“Lite" changed to DeepSeek V4.1 Flash 0.7× Fastest” not the model I explicitly selected and set in multiple automations and routines. -
It undermines user control
Model selection is a meaningful setting. If the system replaces the model automatically, the setting becomes misleading unless the app clearly explains why and gives you a choice.
A reasonable fallback can be useful when a model is unavailable, but the app should clearly say something like:
“Luna is unavailable. Run this automation with DeepSeek V4.1 Flash instead?”
At minimum, it should show that a substitution occurred, explain the reason, and let me approve or disable automatic switching.
You have made some amazing changes in the last few weeks. I do appreciate all the daily updates and i like the idea of having other model options.
